It has been reported that Apple may release a cheaper version of iPhone 4 with smaller memory of 8GB . Memory chips are one of the most expensive components used in iOS devices . Cutting the memory short seems to be the strategy in introducing a cheaper iPhone , which is much in demand among the consumers .
Reuters claim that Apple is preparing to launch iPhone 5 and the low-cost iPhone 4 at the end of September or first week of October. The 8GB iPhone 4 flash memory will be manufactured by a Korean company . Currently the 16GB and 32 GB memory units are being sourced by Samsung and Toshiba Electronics. After the series of lawsuits between Samsung and Apple fighting over patent rights , it became certain that Apple will be moving its dependencies from Samsung as soon as possible.
