broken iphone 4-

How much it would cost you :

This insurance program costs $4.99 per month and a $50 or $125 deductible for each claim depending on the particular model of iPhone you have . This is lot cheaper tha the $11 per month scheme and $199 deductible . You are allowed to claim your insurance twice in a period of 12 months . Customers can only enroll within 30 days of a new activation or upgrade .

Point to be noted that Verizon Wireless is already offering insurance on iPhone 4 at the rate of $10.99 per month for its CDMA iPhone users with a $169 deductible for the 16GB model and a $199 deductible for the 32GB model which makes AT&T’s offer comparatively cheap .

An alernative as well is to buy the phone through BestBuy. Their protection plan is $14.99 a month, but it is a no questions asked, no deductible insurance. My sister broke her iPhone 4 5 times in 8 months and had it replaced everytime with no questions asked, with a brand new phone, not refurbished. They also gave her a loaner phone until the new phone came in (which took about 3 days)

      that sounds better

I think its better thru square trade. I paid them a one time fee for a protection of 3yrs. And when my device went bad, they gave me a check for a full price for it no questions asked.

I actually like that idea a lot. Were there limitations to how many times you could get it replaced? Did they give you retail value, or contract value? Also, to add to my comment below, my replacements were also brand new iPhones, but keep in mind everyone, throughly BACK UP ALL jailbreak data when you go to turn in, because the replacement model you get has the LATEST firmware out on them. This is a MUST CONSIDER issue, because twice now (shame on me) I was like “oh no.. Is 3.1.1 and 4.3.3 jailbreakable!?” sucks when it’s not available at the time >.<

Subject: Phone reported missing by verizon

    Question Posted by : Luigi

I recently bought an iPhone4 from an acquaintance and when I went to activate it at Verizon they said I couldn’t because it had been reported missing. Is there anyway I can get around this? Jail breaking or some other technique so that I can activate it and use it with Verizon.

you steal a phone and now want a way around the built in protection
give the phone back to the person you ripped off
      get a job
when you get enough money then you can get one that will work

Everyone needs to be careful in how they approach these offers. @Necropotence: (I like your handle) you raise a great point. Coincidently, I have had the 14.99 Black Tie insurance through best buy since the iPhone 4 was released, and it has definitely paid off, considering I’ve “accidentally” smashed my iPhone 4 twice since, and they replaced it no questions asked.. Except for a few minor stipulations. If your device is jailbroken, it’s up to the sole decision of the mobile/geek squad guys if they WANT to re-firm it before they send it out. Technically, they are supposed to refuse your repair if it is (violates service agreement), but I have too many friends at best buy, they just laugh, say “we already know we need to flash it” (I even jailbroke the loaner iPhone =D, they facepalmed, and I laughed at them) and that’s basically that.
With that said, there is another thing you need to consider. 14.99$ has added up a lot for me… I’ve even considered canceling it, because I’ve must have paid… What, $180 or something? If I would have paid for a deductible and 5$ a month, it would have been more expensive to repair, twice in a year. This is only worth it on AT&T if you plan to break your iPhone 4 only once a year, otherwise if you break it more frequently (if you predict twice a year or more, which, c’mon, it happens), it would be more cost effective to go with best buys “service plan”. They DON’T charge a deductible, and they can usually give you a loaner iPhone.
Again, just to reiterate and keep it simple, $5 a month, over 12 months = $60. Assuming the more expensive deductible, $125, that = $185. So, if you take my example of breaking my iPhone twice in 12 months, I have definitely saved more, so far, based on best buys service plan, compared to the assumptions of AT&T’s pricing.
I seem to rant on these forums, but hey, hopefully I gave you all something to think about.

Article says you can only get the insurance on new phones at the time of purchase. What about once the plan is introduced. I would assume anyone can get it then?
