I want this … ;P
Three years back – my intuitive mind told me that the interchangeable lens was just about within reach and would become the new reality – rivaling – bettering those of the ELPH camera series I’ve bought for myself and my daughter. But then – I envisaged (and proposed) the applestore concept back in 1993 …
If apple ever wanna do these kind of lenses, they should make it higher pixel. If its only 10.1, I wouldn’t buy it since most of the cameras now are at least .14.1 megapixel. Apple prolly charge higher price than a camera so in order for customer to think its worth to buy… Make it great… Maybe add water proof, shock proof, and freeze proof on the features…
Don’t you guys agree?
Just curious if in the last 6 months you have printed an image over 24 inches. Because if you haven’t you really don’t need a 14.1 megapixel camera. Don’t get me wrong I not against a larger megapixel camera, but I think your reasons for having a larger megapixel camera may not be accurate.
Totaly agree. I would defenetly buy one of that in higher pixel.
I want it!!!! I would so use that!
This prototype is really appealing even though the number of pixels is low but it is after all for use with the iPhone. As a result, it is not a standalone camera but an accessory for the phone. I think that 10.1 megapixels is exceptional for what it is because you won’t have to carry a digital camera + your iPhone. It becomes an all-in-1. Now it is not meant for the professionals or the enthusiasts even though I believe the quality of the pictures would be exceptional for what it is. As a spare camera for all occasions use, the idea is awesome. Apple is expensive, I agree but you pay for what you get as well. I eventually will get it depending on the reviews down the road…
Well, the build in Projector is in the roumor mill for iPhone5. What the lenses are concerned, there are quite a range available.

Btw, the megapixels are not really what you look for in a good camera. Way more important is not only the lens, but also the size of the sensor. I have an old 8 mx Nikon professional digital body with a range of lenses and I can say, it eats 14,1 mx compacts for breakfast.

Yes, most of the people has missed the point. It’s. It’s not about the megapixels it is all about the sensor size my friend. My 5.6 megapixel Nikon D1X (8 years old now) has help me published my first 10 by 10 inch coffee table book and also printed A2 size prints for exhibition. Software manipulation can give you whatever megapixel you want these days. I would say 8-10 megapixels will be good for all purpose use for prints, post and email. Great site man.
Interesting concept from apple . This can be a game changer in camera market niche . Expect to see that soon
Cool gadget but have you thought about battery life, we all know that iphone battery isnt that fancy… how come using the iphone as a driver for the camera(lens).
Friends agree that you are buying a product apple, just because it’s trendy and conceptual product. What would you then do not say you’ll buy it! I’ll buy it! No matter what size of a pixel, it is important that you use:)
