Seeing as Apple gave us not one, not two, not three but four new products on their September 12th launch it may be too much to hope for that on their October 23rd event they will give us even more goodies, but it certainly looks that way . Not only can we hope for the launch of the iPad Mini but it also seems like Apple will be bringing us a 13″ Retina Macbook Pro as well as an updated Mac Mini.
So what does that mean for us consumers ?
The launch of the 15″ Retina Macbook was lovely and the stunning clarity of the screen certainly brings a whole new dimension to what is already a beautiful piece of technology, but for some the 15″ version is too big to be fully portable, as well as too expensive for some budgets.
No prices have been released yet for the new 13″ Retina Macbook but, as always, there are several rumours floating around in regards to the specifications of the new models. Several sources are talking about an “unprecedented” battery design, and although the details are sketchy this could mean a radically increased battery life, super fast charging or a change in size and/or weight. No doubt Apple will keep as much in the dark as possible so for now it is all purely speculation.
What is really interesting and would definitely increase the 13″ Macbook’s sales would be the rumored inclusion of extra ports such as two thunderbolt ports and a HDMI port on the 13″ version. This will greatly increase usability and it will be good to see Apple making as much technology available to the purchasers of their smaller Macs.
Mac Mini 2012 :
The Mac mini rumors are less abundant but it is expected that it will feature faster processors to bring them up to date with Apple’s newest technology. It is possible that Apple will release three different types of Mac mini, two with differing amounts of processing power and storage and another that will run the OS X server.
